Our head chef, Manchester born Liam Rutherford has many years’ experience working in some of the UK’s finest eateries in London and in the South West, where Liam worked under Gary Rhodes. In 2014 Liam came back to Lancashire to establish his award winning food pub menus at The Clarence and within a year helped us secure the coveted award for Best Food Pub at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards.
Liam’s signature style is seasonal, local and gutsy with a modern twist. He strives to find the best ingredients available employing modern cooking techniques to create something out of the ordinary. He can often be found bringing his lively culinary imagination to developing new ideas for The Clarence’s ever evolving seasonal menus.
